for wheelchairs are very important for the disabled person
for his day to day activities and play a vital role during
power cuts. It is always better to have a powerful battery
for convenience as weak ones have the chances of failing on
and off.

A wide variety of batteries are available in the market for
the wheelchairs. Traction batteries are the batteries intended
for electric motors. There are two types of traction batteries
–one the gel battery which has electrolyte gel packs
and the other is AGM or the absorbed glass mat battery a new
version which can absorb more shock and vibe.
The
gel batteries have the electrolyte gel packed to avoid leaking.
In the case of the new AGM traction battery the electrolyte
is packed in between boron silicate glass mats. Just like
the gel battery this is done to avoid leak in the battery.
When
it comes to choosing the right battery between the gel battery
and the AGM battery, people opt for the AGM battery as it
is charged like any other regular battery and does not need
any special charger. They work for a longer period of time
when charged and get charged very quickly.
There
should be no leakage while in use and AGM battery is the reliable
and best when compared to the lead-acid batteries. Although
these wheelchair batteries may be a bit costly but it can
be of great use for disabled persons for their wheelchair
as they serve the purpose for a longer period of time.
