deprived people in the society are the disabled. Although
there are associations to help these people with the law they
set, there are still many that overlook these laws do not
do the necessary for the disabled. Despite this fact there
has been a lot of changes and upgrade in the equipments and
the disabled have learnt to adjust to the environment.

Person with problem in the spinal cord or with paralyzed legs
use wheelchair. This wheelchair has different parts and the
armrest plays a very vital role. This armrest gives support
and strength and used to rest arms. Never take this armrest
for granted as has its own importance.
It
controls the person in the wheelchair and also keeps their
pace steady when the disabled person stops or picks up things
from the floor. The person can sit straight and with ease
and comfort with the arms firm on the armrest.
Person
with short arms find it difficult with armrest while wheeling.
It hampers them from picking up things from the table or floor.
But they need not worry as these armrests are removable and
most of the persons using wheelchair use armrest only when
needed.
In
patients where the upper body strength is restricted this
armrest helps them to keep their balance. The armrest helps
in shifting the body weight on an off which keeps a check
to the sores. It also helps a person from falling from the
wheelchair.
There
are many types of armrests available in the market. Choose
the armrest that suits your actions, surroundings, needs,
functions and choice. Anything that can enhance your mobility
should be preferred and if armrest gives you ease and comforts
go straightaway for it.
